HVN AIRPORT MARKS FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF AMERICAN AIRLINES REGIONAL JET SERVICE – ADDING CHARLOTTE SERVICE
In the year since American Airlines replaced its turboprop aircraft with Regional Jets, just under 77,000 passengers have traveled through convenient, hassle-free HVN Airport, a 35% ridership increase over the prior 12 months.
“The Tweed – New Haven Airport Authority (TNHAA) offers our congratulations to American Airlines on this very successful milestone,” said Tim Larson, Executive Director of the TNHAA. “We look to build on this momentum and pledge to continue to work closely with AA, as well as the communities and stakeholders served by HVN, to ensure the Airport remains an invaluable neighbor and welcomed partner for the mutual development and benefit of all.”
The popular jet service, to and from Philadelphia International (PHL), operates 3 flights Sundays through Fridays and 2 flights on Saturdays. HVN departure choices include early morning, mid-day, and early evening. Via PHL, easy connections are available to over 130 domestic and international destinations. Travelers from all over Southern Connecticut increasingly use close-by HVN regularly, finding attractive fares to most destinations. Economical parking is also easy-in, easy-out.
Since November 29, 2017, the quiet 50-seat jets have completed over 900 departures from HVN at an 89% completion rate. On average, flights have been 84% full and arrived at PHL 82% On-Time. Of completed flights, average flight arrival in PHL has been within 2 minutes of schedule, with 73% arriving early.
As of December 22, HVN users will enjoy even more flexible connections as American begins jet service to Charlotte Douglas International (CLT). Initially, a 10 AM flight will depart on Saturdays, offering an even-broader selection of one-stop connections to South and Central America, the Caribbean, and cities throughout the U.S.
