The airport is receiving a new look. Enplanements are rising and accommodating the traveling public is a primary focus for the airport. Where do travelers park? Where does the traveler go once they reach the airport? These and other questions are being addressed through upgrades and modernization at Albany International Airport.
The airport is undergoing more than $40 million in renovations and upgrades, including the garage, new restrooms, escalators, flooring and directional signage.
A new one thousand (1,000) capacity parking garage is expected to open in 2020. Plan ahead when you travel today because 300 parking spaces have been lost during construction. Next year the inconvenience today will be a distant memory when parking becomes easier and more convenient, tomorrow.
To ease the construction woes, elect to use valet parking for $9 per day versus the $13 per day fee in the garage. Elect the economy lots or E lots, if you plan ahead and have time because these sit further from the airport.
